I didn't see the cliff.
That's the honest truth. One second I was carving through heavy snow at Mammoth Mountain. The next, I was falling.
Eighteen feet. Straight down onto a maintenance area.
It was cloudy that day. Snowing. Visibility was nearly zero. And as I fell, I didn't know how deep it went. I didn't know if I would stop. Or if I would just… stop.
Pictures flashed. Not my whole life. Just the important ones.
Then I hit.
I broke my right ankle in three places. Middle foot. Inner ankle side. And a spiral fracture up the outer bone.
That was the day I realized something uncomfortable: Life can end in a second. And I had been living like it wouldn't.
I decided to change.
Not in a dramatic, movie‑montage way. In a quiet, terrified, hospital‑bed way. I didn't have a plan. I just knew I couldn't go back to how I was.
Six weeks with zero weight on that leg. Then months of rehab. Tiny, boring, frustrating steps. Learning to walk again. Then jog. Then run.
Eight years ago, I took my first real run.
Since then? Twelve marathons. Five half‑marathons. And my first full Ironman.
But here's what I really learned:
It wasn't the finishes that changed me. It was everything in between.
The injuries. The self‑doubt. The mornings I didn't want to get out of bed. The races that went wrong.
The voice in my head that said: "You're not built for this."
I learned about endurance—not as a buzzword, but as a daily choice.
I learned about mindset—how to train it like a muscle.
I learned about self‑love—the kind that shows up as discipline, not indulgence.
And I learned that persistence isn't about being tough. It's about staying.
This page—this whole business—is a reflection of those lessons.
I'm not here to sell you a quick fix or a motivational quote. I'm here to share what actually worked for me.
The frameworks. The failures. The nutrition tweaks. The mental shifts.
Because if I could go from a broken ankle on a snowy mountainside to an Ironman finish line…
So can you.
Endure. Adapt. Transform.
Let's get into it.
